Rosemary Margaret Hobor is the wife of the late Canadian actor and comedian John Candy who died in 1994. Candy met a sudden death; he was found dead on the set of Wagon East Parody. John Franklin Candy (1950-1994) was a savvy Canadian actor and comedian who is mainly known for her films like Stripes, Splash, Summer Rental, Uncle Buck, Cool Runnings, Spaceballs, and the list goes on. His superhits include 1991 movies JFK and Only The Lonely and 1987 blockbuster comedy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (wherein he played his most renowned onscreen character Del Griffith). Besides his acting career, he was the co-owner of the Toronto Argonauts team of the Canadian Football League. The team won the Grey Cup of 1991 under his guardianship. Canady once shared that he suffered from panic attacks and extreme anxiety. John Candy was born to a Canadian father and Polish mother on October 31, 1950. He belonged to a Catholic family of the working class. John was five years old when his father died of heart complications (just like John died at a young age due to cardiac arrest). As a young, school-going boy, he wanted to be a footballer but couldn’t pursue his dream due to a knee injury). In Hollywood, he rose to fame with Stripes (1981), one of the most commercially successful movies of the year. Ghostbusters (1983)’s crew approached him to play the leading character of Louis Tally, but he couldn’t play the role due to his conflicting approach over how to play this character. He played his breakthrough role of Tom Hank’s womanizer brother in the romantic comedy Splash. He played his first lead in Summer Rental (1985). Following his collaboration with John Hughes, he had a hit film Planes Trains & Automobiles. In 1989, he had another hit film, Uncle Buck. Candy produced a Saturday morning animated series ‘Camp Candy,’ where he starred alongside his kids. He also produced the Canadian movie ‘The Rocket Boy’ (1989) and had a cameo in Hughes’s blockbuster hit movie Home Alone (1990). He made his directorial debut in the 1994 movie ‘Hostage for a day.’ He made his last appearances in Wagons East and Canadian Bacon (1995). Candy was considered to appear with Sylvester Stallone in John Hughes’s comedy Bartholomew vs. Neff, but his premature death didn’t give him a chance.
